Similar to the Russian Medovik, this cake has layers of delicious honey sponge and a velvety sour cream frosting.
Chopped prunes and walnuts are added to the frosting and after the chilling time, something magical happens. It all makes perfect sense.
It is hard to find words to describe the flavours but it’s such a successful combination.
This cake requires 24 hrs of chilling for the flavours to mature. Please allow ample time from ordering.

During lockdown, my husband and I wanted to surprise our daughter, who lived ten miles away, with something special for her birthday.
